Best Time to Travel to Thailand
Thailand is a wonderful country to visit, with its Buddhist temples and lively night markets you are definitely going to have an experience in this diverse country that you will not soon forget.

Thailand is located at the middle of Southeast Asia and it experiences three seasons: wet, dry and winter seasons. If you're not the type who could stand extreme humidity then it's best for you to stay away from Thailand during the summer which comes in March and ends somewhere in May or June. The wet season in Thailand can be comforting sometimes due to the humidity. Rain showers in Thailand are often not as hard as torrential downpours in other Southeast Asian countries so there's a good chance that you may be able to visit the Pat Pong in the afternoon if it is raining in the morning.
All throughout the year, Thailand has good weather though it can become unreasonably hot during summer. From November up to February, the climate is cool and there are lesser rain showers all throughout these months. What may be surprising to some people is that Thailand, unlike most countries in the Southeast Asian region, has a winter season.
Winter Wonderland in Southeast Asia?
The northern part and northeastern part of Thailand have a much cooler climate than the rest of the country. Mountain regions in the area can have temperatures as low as 0 degrees centigrade. Winter starts here in November and it lasts until February. The northern part of Thailand is quite a sight to see. You can see mist coming down on the mountain side, flowers all in bloom and fog slightly concealing the beautiful landscape.
Even if you find yourself up north in Thailand in April, where summer is at its peak, this place is still a great place to be at, especially during the Songkran Festival. In April, Thai people celebrate the Songkran Festival wherein they try to drench passersby with water by throwing water at them from pails or small containers. So if you're spending summer at Thailand and the heat is beginning to be unbearable take advantage of this festival and get drenched!
Central and East Thailand
In the eastern provinces of Thailand and in the central part, summer can be sweltering. The start of summer is in February and lasts until April when temperatures can go up to a staggering 40 degrees centigrade. Winter starts here in the middle of November and lasts until February but you would rarely feel any cold days during these months. Although, as the New Year slowly approaches you can feel the temperature be more chilly. So the best time to visit these parts of Thailand is during the months of December until May.
South of Thailand
If you want to go to southern Thailand the seasons that you have to put up with are only two: dry and wet seasons. Tourists often visit the beach areas in this region like Koh Samui and Hat Yai and the best time to go there is from December to June. Although, any time of the year would be good to visit this region.
